¡MURALS!. The Proyecto Ritual Art of the Case Worker Mancasale.

¡MURALS!. The Proyecto Ritual Art of the Case Worker Mancasale. A title that sums up all the purposes and possibilities of a project interesting and almost unique in Italy, designed in collaboration with an artist – Simone Ferrarini – and organized by the Cultural Saval. A collective comprised of four artists – “Proyecto Ritual”: the Spanish Kenora, Zosen and H101, and Italian, throat – he made sure that the decorated façades of an explosion of colors and shapes of taste strongly present, thereby demonstrating – through the personal style of each one – the idea of contamination of the contemporary youth and the most common inhabitants of public housing.

SAVAL is an association of social advancement that creates artistic and cultural projects with a focus on social aspects. The main objective is to use the forms of artistic expression in order to bring reality and third parties in order to open new channels of communication and unusual creative interactions.
In ¡MURALS! the association has conceived the project and edited the artistic event. The artists were selected by SAVAL based on stylistic features, the poetic and personal socio-cultural aspects. The decision to involve foreign dignitaries finds its justification in the desire to bring together two very distant reality (the inhabitants of a neighborhood and popular young artists used to travel around the world) to stimulate both sides curiosity and desire for confrontation. This “spring” is happily taken by creating a family atmosphere and helpful. The ultimate aim was precisely this: to ensure that the artists were not perceived as strangers called to carry out works on their homes, but guests who needed the contribution of all to really grasp the characteristics of the environment and create a personal pictorial interpretations of what was learned and perceived.
Proyecto Ritual is a group of four artists from the stylistic characteristics very different, but united by a predilection for vivid coloring. Everyone has an individual artistic and joined in the “Proyecto” in recognizing a common poetic: the perception of the progressive and destructive removal of man from nature. Beyond the different origins, the personalities of the four artists are very diverse and well marked, as is clear from their works fully. From personal symbolic language of H101, full of obvious references to primitive and Oriental cultures, you switch to the visual story of Zosen, built with expertise crossing figures, metaphors and words.
The formal dynamism of Kenor joins the mania descriptive of the great allegorical representation of the throat. A great dialectic of styles and content that finds its culmination in the “combo” made eight hands on one of the buildings.
They are a group that has already proven entirely in cheese and has been able to enjoy this experience. To them he added a fifth element in the pipeline: Cees.
Cees, Argentine artist, was in Ancona for a festival in Reggio came to visit his friends to Proyecto Ritual. When he saw the situation and decided to join the project and stayed with us. His mural is another variant style: figurative and fully with a propensity more didactic, worthy heir of the South American muralist tradition, is characterized by a different use of color adding to the artistic interventions in the district further stylistic.

MURALES!.

STEN & LEX – Stencyl artists from Italy

http://vimeo.com/14018329

Pioneers of “Stencil Graffiti” in Italy, started operating in Rome in 2001. The first stencil depicting icons of b-movies, like most of the tradition of Stencil Art, but the search soon leads them to represent anonymous faces of students taken from college yearbooks of the 60 ‘and 70’.
A parallel trend is that of prints and engravings; Sten & Lex incorporate details of stamps, notes and illustrations of the past, such as those of Gustave Dore, and make monumental painting on large posters (4-6 meters high ) and attacking them on the street illegally. Often in their works rework elements of religious and church, their tone is irreverent and action is part of a recovery of classical revived subjectively by the two artists.
Their importance in the international arena is due mainly to the introduction of the use of half-dyeing technique in the stencil. Their stencils are composed of points, pixels, lines and images that make sense. The technique in question has been defined by themselves HOLE SCHOOL.

Takashi Murakami

http://vimeo.com/14910586

Takashi Murakami was born in Tokyo in 1963 and received his BFA, MFA and PhD from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. He has had recent solo shows at Marianne Boesky Gallery, New York (2003); Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, Paris (2002); Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo (2001); Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (2001); and Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin, Paris (2001).

In addition to his work as an artist, Takashi Murakami is a curator, entrepreneur, and a student of contemporary Japanese society. In 2000, Murakami curated an exhibition of Japanese art titled Superflat, which acknowledged a movement toward mass-produced entertainment and its effects on contemporary aesthetics. Murakami is also internationally recognized for his collaboration with designer Marc Jacobs to create handbags and other products for the Louis Vuitton fashion house.

Takashi Murakami’s work has been exhibited in prestigious museums all over the world, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and a recent solo retrospective exhibition at the Bard College Museum of Art. Through his work, Murakami has played with these oppositions in East and West, past and present, high art and low culture while remaining consistently amusing and accessible. His work morphs the worlds of popular contemporary Japanese cartoons and historic Japanese painting (he is classically trained, with a Ph.D. in the traditional nihon-ga style). His recurring character, Mr. DOB, appears on t-shirts, posters, key-chains, etc. world-wide and has even come to life in the form of one of these 3-D sculptures. Murakami has also curated “Super Flat” an exhibition of contemporary Japanese artists.
